This summer, ease the heat along Allegany County Maryland’s Ice Cream Trail!

We may be located in the breezy mountains of Mountain Maryland, but that doesn’t spare us from the sultry dog days of summer. Whether you’re biking through Allegany County on the Great Allegheny Passage or just want a sweet retreat from the mountain’s summer sun, Allegany County, Maryland, is home to some notable ice cream stops.

Mountain City Coffeehouse and Creamery – 60 E Main Street, Frostburg, MD – (0.8 miles from the Frostburg Trailhead on the Great Allegheny Passage) Mountain City Coffeehouse and Creamery, boasting unique Gothic architecture and a cobblestone patio for outdoor dining, sits right in the heart of downtown Frostburg. Featuring locally made ice cream, sourced from Lakeside Creamery at Deep Creek Lake in nearby McHenry, MD, Mountain City Coffeehouse and Creamery serves hand-dipped cones, milkshakes, sundaes, and floats!

A Pappas family tradition for four generations, the Princess Restaurant is packed with history.
