Music in the Mountains

Some say the hills are alive with the sound of music.  Sorry Julie Andrews, it’s the mountains, baby.

Mountain Maryland is your destination for sweet sounds and cool live music.  Not only are we the home of DelFest, a yearly music festival honoring bluegrass legend Del McCoury, but we have a steady slate of seasonal concerts with Cumberland Comes Alive and Bands on the Bricks which host local and regional favorites.  Year-round, the Cultural Events Series at Frostburg State University brings symphonies, orchestras, cutting-edge bands and cool jazz groups to its large and intimate stages.  Rocky Gap Casino hosts weekly entertainment and throw-back bands in their indoor and outdoor venues.  But the pulse of the music scene in Mountain Maryland is the small clubs and bars that host popular and underground local and touring talent.  Dante’s on Main Street in Frostburg books musical acts that create an urban-club vibe in a rural setting. All of types of music in all types of venues for all types of audiences.
